The Professional Development Hockey League (PDHL) is a semi-pro league that will be made up of players from North America and Europe. The league will be based out of Maryland, U.S.A. The age group is 18 and up. But the target is for players who are 20 and older who have completed their college and junior hockey careers, and received no offers to continue their careers elsewhere. And could use a couple more years to develop and make the jump to a higher rank in the pros. It's also a good opportunity for the younger players to gain the experience of playing with older players so that it will prepare them for more competitive pro levels. One could call this league a second chance for a lot of players who have been missed or overlooked along the way. The primary purpose of this league is to get players to a higher pro league in the hockey world. Players who are willing to work hard to accomplish their dreams of playing professional hockey are the type of players this league is looking for. We want to develop hockey players. While many young hockey players growing up playing hockey, never receive the proper coaching and hockey sense along the way. The PDHL is key in developing these hockey players. If you don't have the proper training in any field it is very hard to be successful at what you do. Exposure is the next thing. A player needs exposure to scouts and other coaches. Hockey players need to be seen by someone who is of importance at the highest levels of hockey. We as the PDHL, will promote players to all other pro leagues and teams. The PDHL will be scouted for talent on a regular basis. Scouts from all over North America will come to see individuals in PDHL league play. This league is for players who want a second chance and who want the exposure that they know they need to get to the next level. It's plain and simple, no politics, no favoritism, players who work hard, and have talent and a good attitude and want to play at a higher level, this league is for you! We want the players moving on. We want players moving on to higher pro leagues. We don't want to keep players in the PDHL too long! When players move on to higher pro leagues, we recruit new players in to take their spot. Pro hockey has needed a league like the PDHL for quite sometime and we are very proud to bring it to you.
